An adventure into ice, water and landscape.
Fontana Bianca, Ultimo Valley – South Tyrol (Italy)
ICE WALK is more than just a stroll: it is an immersive journey into nature and geomorphology, exploring a landscape shaped over thousands of years by natural forces. Two interconnected loop trails await you, telling one fascinating story together.
A – The Panorama trail
A true open-air laboratory: here you can experience a spectacular landscape up close, the result of both ancient and recent natural processes.
B –The Giant’s kettles trail
This path leads you to a hidden natural monument, carved by glacier waters over millennia and only recently brought to light.
Trail A
The Panorama trail of ICE WALK leads through a fascinating landscape in constant transformation. You will walk across a rock glacier and discover the last remains of the Ultimo Valley glaciers. They are clear indicators of climate change and show how successful we are in reducing global warming. Climate change mitigation and adaptation are the only possible answers to safeguard Ultimo Valley and our planet from the risks of uncontrolled development.
