In der N\u00e4he der Wei\u00dfbrunnalm<\/b> tritt Quellwasser aus dem Boden und bildet ein einzigartiges Biotop: ein Niedermoor<\/b>. Hier bleibt der Boden st\u00e4ndig feucht, wodurch abgestorbene Pflanzen nur langsam zersetzt werden. Mit der Zeit entsteht Torf<\/b>, eine dunkle, schwammige Bodenschicht, die Jahrhunderte von Vegetationsgeschichte bewahrt. An manchen Stellen ist die Torfschicht bis zu 1,5 Meter m\u00e4chtig.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neben dieser au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Flora erf\u00fcllt das Niedermoor wichtige \u00f6kologische Funktionen: Es speichert Kohlenstoff und reduziert so das CO2 in der Atmosph\u00e4re. Zudem nimmt es Regenwasser wie ein Schwamm auf und tr\u00e4gt dazu bei, den oberfl\u00e4chlichen Abfluss von Niederschl\u00e4gen zu d\u00e4mpfen.\u00a0Ein stilles Naturwunder \u2013 klein, unscheinbar, aber unverzichtbar f\u00fcr Klima und Artenvielfalt. <\/span><\/h3>\n
