Mit dem R\u00fcckzug der Gletscher vor etwa 20.000 Jahren kehrte auch der Mensch in diese T\u00e4ler zur\u00fcck. Am Langsee befand sich ein sommerliches Lager von J\u00e4gern und Sammlern des Sp\u00e4tpal\u00e4olithikums (14.000\u201310.000 v. Chr.) und Mesolithikums (10.000\u20135.500 v. Chr.). Davon zeugen Feuersteinger\u00e4te und Abschl\u00e4ge, die hier gefunden wurden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Der Temperaturanstieg und die Anhebung der Waldgrenze f\u00fchrten dazu, dass Mensch und Wildtiere immer weiter in die H\u00f6he zogen \u2013 ein direktes Echo des damaligen Klimawandels.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Auch die moderne Forschung liefert spannende Einblicke: 2011 wurden am Ortler-Plateau<\/b> auf 3850 m H\u00f6he Eiskerne entnommen. Ihre Analyse zeigt, dass um etwa 5000 v. Chr.<\/b> selbst der h\u00f6chste Gipfel S\u00fcdtirols eisfrei war \u2013 ein Beweis f\u00fcr die rasche Entgletscherung und das Klimaoptimum jener Zeit.<\/span><\/p>\n
